The chocolate poke cake

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Electric mixer
  • Wooden spoon

  • Cooling rack
  • Wooden skewer or chopstick

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease baking pan
  2. Mix dry chocolate cake ingredients in large bowl
  3. Add wet ingredients and blend until smooth
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes
  6. Allow cake to cool completely
  7. Poke holes using wooden skewer
  8. Pour chocolate sauce over cake
  9. Refrigerate for one hour before serving
